and Chaplain
Caregiving is a profound act of love — and one that quietly asks more than most people anticipate. This workshop is a dedicated two hours for family caregivers to step back, breathe, and gather tools for the road ahead.
What we’ll cover
Our hospice social worker and chaplain will lead the group through topics that come up most often for caregiving families:
- Recognizing and naming caregiver fatigue — what it looks and feels like, and why it is not a sign of weakness
- Practical strategies for rest and renewal — protecting sleep, accepting help specifically, and keeping one thread of your own life
- Using your hospice team — how our social worker, chaplain, and aides can share the physical and emotional load
- Respite care — what it is, how it works, and how to request it under the Medicare Hospice Benefit
- When grief begins before the loss — anticipatory grief is real, and there is real support for it
Who should attend
This workshop is open to anyone caring for a loved one on hospice — family members, close friends, or anyone in the primary caregiver role. You do not need to be a current Eternal Life Hospice family to attend. Bring a notebook, bring your questions, and come as you are.
A note on format
This is a small group gathering — intentionally so. We keep attendance limited to allow space for honest conversation and genuine connection with others in similar seasons of life. Light refreshments will be provided. The session runs two hours with no rigid schedule; we follow the room.
