A Comfort Offering · Included in Our Care

The Sound Bath

Resonant tones from Tibetan bowls, crystal singing bowls and original soundscapes, brought gently to the bedside. Created purely for rest, comfort and quiet presence.

A still point in the day

A sound bath is a quiet, immersive experience of sound. Sustained, resonant tones are allowed to rise, overlap, and slowly fade, filling the room and inviting the body to settle. There is nothing to do and nowhere to be — the patient simply rests and listens.

For many of the families we serve, it becomes one of the most peaceful parts of the week: a still point in days that can feel anything but still. We offer it for that reason alone — comfort, and a moment of calm.

Three sound journeys — listen here

We composed three original soundscapes for the patients in our care. Each preview plays right here; the full sessions are offered in person, at the patient’s own pace. Best experienced with headphones.

The names below come from the sound-healing tradition — they describe the tones used, not medical effects.

An ancient practice, brought home

Singing bowls have been part of meditation, prayer, and quiet reflection for centuries. The bowls are played slowly, the tones layered, and the room is allowed to grow still around them. We bring that same unhurried practice to the bedside — wherever home is, and only when it is welcome.

What to expect

A trained practitioner — guides every session, in person
The patient stays put — in bed or in a chair, at home
Short, gentle and optional — entirely at the patient’s pace
Family is welcome — to rest and listen alongside
Nothing to learn — and nothing required
No additional expense — provided by Eternal Life Hospice at no cost to the family

What families tell us

Everyone responds differently, and a sound bath is not a treatment for any condition. But families often share the same few words with us afterward: the room felt calmer. They rested. It was peaceful. We offer the sound bath for exactly those moments of comfort — and for no other reason.

Please note: A sound bath is a complementary comfort experience, not medical care. It is not a treatment for pain, anxiety, or any disease or condition; it is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent anything; and it is never a substitute for medical care. Sound bath sessions are not covered by the Medicare hospice benefit. Eternal Life Hospice provides them at no additional expense when included in the individualized care plan.

Enjoy Sound

The sound bath and our integrative comfort therapies may be incorporated into the care plan when requested and appropriate, when included in the individualized care plan and operationally available. A conversation costs nothing and brings clarity.
